Cabernet sauvignon  crossed with Norton.  Very deep crimson red wine grape.  Full bodied , clean , spicy, food wine .  Hint of dried cherries, blackberries and currants. Rothbrick planted 600 vines in 2009, with the first crop for available for production in 2013.  We are the first vineyard in Missouri to be granted the privilege to grow these newly developed grapes. Cabernet Dore’ is a yellow gold  grape.  A surprising offspring of two deep reds,  Cabernet Sauvignon and Norton, it packs a bouquet worthy of the lineage.  It makes an excellent white wine resembling a Sauvignon Blanc that has been tamed with a bit of Semillion.  Soft finish and extremely pleasant aftertaste. Tropical nose, pineapple, occasional whiff of banana.  Rothbrick has one acre planted with anticipated harvest 2013. White grape hybrid, a cross of Gewurztraminer and Joannes Seyve.  Produces excellent quaity wine with distinct aroma of Gewurztraminer.  Traminette is suited to different wine styles, including dry and sweet versions .  Aging well, wine produced from this grape develops honey and apricot flavors in two to five years.  The grape is fairly high acidity and low pH which harmonizes with its typical fresh fruit aromas and floral spicy flavors.  ROTHBRICK  estate vineyard was first started in 2008 .  We have 2600 vines comprised of 7 varietals. First harvest will be in 2012.   CABERNET DORE’ TRAMINETTE CRIMSON CABERNET NOIRET NORTON VIDAL BLANC Noiret (nwahr-ay) is a complex hybrid which yields a distinctive richly colored red wine, with notes of green pepper, red pepper, raspberry, and mint.  Released in 2006, this young grape is rapidly becoming a favorite of enthusiasts everywhere.  First harvest expected in 2013. The King of American grapes and the state grape of Missouri, Norton (Cynthiana) is a powerful deeply red grape.  Blessed with an abundance of reservatrol and a lack of the flavor described as ‘foxiness’. Norton wine is a staple in nearly every winery east of the Rockies.  Planted in 2008, first harvest was in 2011. A white grape used to make a dry- to semi-dry, full-bodied wine with fruity characteristics somewhat like Italian dry whites. Vidal's clean citrus flavors of lemon and grapefruit create a nicely balanced wine perfect with seafood and poultry.  First harvest expected in 2013. and introducing..... APHRODITE A cross between Norton and a mysterious Portuguese white, Aphrodite is a beautiful pink grape of medium size.  It makes a dry, golden wine with excellent body and a smooth finish.  Planted in May 2011, first harvest is expected in 2013.  We can’t wait. © Rothbrick Ventures LLC 2011
